CULTURE Lovebox celebrate their fifteenth birthday with grime heavyweight Kano added to bill Grime heavyweight of 2016, Kano, is set to join Joe Goddard as he premieres his solo album Electric Lines. It’s been fifteen years for Lovebox festival, who return this July 14th and 15th with a diverse two-day line up, with Sampha, Solange, Frank Ocean and Jamie XX at the top of the bill. Elsewhere, you’ll catch Culture Or Trash at Kink’s rich live set, a spectacle comparable to a Flume live gig; conducted by central washes of chords, Kink is also one of the electronic music scene’s most enigmatic live performers. A couple of sponsored stages will bring different atmospheres. Corona Sunsets is for Balearic beats, while Kopparberg Urban Forest turns to hip hop and r ‘n’ b. And nightlife bolthole fabric also returns to Victoria Park. |
TRASH Latitude announces slew of comedy greats, and newcomers, for comedy tent 2017 It’s Katherine Ryan’s big year as the acerbic wit and Culture Or Trash fave has climbed to the top of the Latitude bill, alongside Dara O’Briain and Simon Amstell. Joining them are Sean Walsh, Andy Parsons, Tim Key, Joel Dommett and cheeky chap, Chris Ramsay. Dom Joly is a throwback, but we’ll be dashing with all our might to Ivo Graham, the ex-Etonian with precise epithets of comedy so perfectly scripted, but drawing on real life. Why buy water bottles when you can keep one from 2012 with its “tell-tale sign” red Evian cap. Others announced include Richard Herring, John Robins and the Chortle Student Comedy Awards. |
