Last year, seminal dance troupe Bugged Out! hosted their Bugged Out Weekender in the middle of March, in the middle of nowhere. Us and a thousand or so of Shoreditch’s dance savvy followed each other up the country from Euston to, well, we can’t remember, it was too far away, but we’re up for it again.
And the good news: Bugged Out’s third weekender is this time courtesy of Butlins, which means nuclear housing but this time at least with made-up beds, perfect for those long January afternoons you’ll spend in them over the weekend of 16th, 17th and 18th January when you relapse from Dry January from the hours of midnight-7am inclusive.
Confirmed acts include Dusky, label boss Erol Alkan, Shadow Child, Maya Jane Coles, and Bugged Out! stalwart Daniel Avery. Canadian personality Heidi returns, who poured Finlandia in our mouths at last year’s three-day knees-up, as do the Chems (the Chems!) and the live pulsing beats of Warner Music signing Ten Walls.
It’s all of the party, none of the walk home. Well, a teensy bit of the walk home, if swinging by the crazy golf, swimming pool or BEACH to shake off the dancing shoes counts.
Dilapidated, danced-out, broke, envious of summer? British beaches in January, hard techno and an apartment to cook your own brekky in will move things along.
Holidaying in Jan. Trust Bugged Out to make a party out of being late to the party.
