EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE CULTURE AT BOOMTOWN FESTIVAL

  • Visit a makeshift town with 12 immersive districts
  • It has one of the country’s most eclectic music line-ups
  • If only we weren’t really in…Winchester.

If you’re into wildly elaborate mythology, coupled with one of the most eclectic music line-ups on the circuit (dub, roots, reggae and ska primarily) then Boomtown is your ticket. It has the UK’s most alternative festival feel celebrating everything you can’t find at the commercial festivals.

What do we mean? Well, the festival invest thousands in actors who inhabit the site to give guests unrivaled experiences. They’ll drag you off into forbidden corners, or wildly duel above your heads.  And the districts are made to look like shanty towns, cities and lavish outdoor theatres. While live music is going on, you’ll be immersed in the elaborate story of Boomtown: it’s by far the most embellished fictitious tale at a festival we’ve ever seen.

If you aren’t convinced that this festival is truly different, check out the character theme announcement video for 2017 below.

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT GETTING TRASHED AT BOOMTOWN FESTIVAL

  • Get held to ransom by the “authorities” of Boomtown for misbehaviour
  • Stay up all night avoiding bullets from villians in the Wild West
  • Challenge 100s of immersive actors to duels across the whole Town

Boomtown is a serious party. It isn’t for the faint-hearted, partially due to some of the country’s most innovative speaker systems. But it’s also a serious party because of the festival’s commitment to unrivaled hedonism, as old-school ravers meet with Millennials, all of whom dance Berlin-style, starting before breakfast and wandering from one outlandish experience to another. You’ll need no predisposition for festivals, as Boomtown will shake them all to the core. Hear music you’ve never heard of in a wild array of environments. Escapist districts include Trenchtown, Wild West, Mayfair, Chinatown and Barrio Loco. And we’ve heard on the street (down in Barrio Loco) that to really get to best of the festival, you’ll need to lean in a little closer, and have a word with the actors themselves; the croupier in the casino (Wild West) or the pretty girls in Mayfair. Then you’ll really find the party. Boomtown is all about interacting with strangers, but watch your back, because you’ll want to lose the authorities, and even worse, the gangsters upon whom the myth of this city is based.
